For the metadata-based routing which is the recommended routing method in the Communication Service, you and your partners have to commit to one communication protocol. This protocol needs to transmit a unique EDI address to identify the sender and the recipient of a message.
You have different protocol options to connect to the gateway:
Protocol |
Used by |
Unique EDI address |
SLMP+ |
BIS users |
SEEID |
SFTP |
Non-BIS users |
SEEID |
REST |
Non-BIS users |
SEEID |
Information: The gateway automatically assigns a unique identifier to every connected partner. This so called "SEEID" is the only technical identifier you need to know about the partner, no matter which protocol the partner uses. |
SLMP+ is a SEEBURGER specific protocol based on AS2 to connect BIS products.
Partners can connect to the gateway using one of these protocols:
Protocol |
Unique EDI address |
AS2 |
AS2 ID |
OFTP2 |
SFID (Odette code) |
SFTP |
SEEID |
You can find the SEEBURGER datasheets for the configuration of your own EDI system on our website:
