Storing packaging data

Storing packaging data

If your customer requires information on your packaging in the delivery note, it is recommended that you maintain your packaging data as master data. To do this, enter the packaging data (for example size) of the packaging you use to ship your items. You then specify for each item which packaging you use to ship this specific item and what quantity fits into the packaging. This means that when you create a new delivery note for each item, the corresponding fields for the packaging are automatically filled in based on your master data.

Note: If you predominantly have to enter changing packaging data, it is not advisable to store the packaging data and specify the packaging of the items. In this case, it is best to fill in the relevant fields manually directly in the delivery note.

Depending on your customer's requirements, you can store packaging data for up to three different packaging types:

  • Package: direct packaging; receives its own packing label; e.g. box

  • Load carrier: superordinate packaging material for packages; receives its own packing label; e.g. pallet

  • Auxiliary material: Filling material or stabilizer; does not receive a packing label; e.g. bubble wrap

To store packaging data, follow these steps:

  1. Open the app Supplier Portal.

  2. Click Master Data > Packaging.

  3. Click New.

  4. Select the packaging type of the packaging for which you want to store data.

  5. In Container Number, enter the name of your packaging type.

  6. In Container Number Customer, enter the name of your customer‘s packaging type.

  7. If needed, add further data for the packaging item.

Note: In Label Print Factor, you can specify the number of automatically created label copies for the packaging.
  8. Click Save.
